Welcome to the practice of Mr Miles Callahan

Mr Callahan is an orthopaedic surgeon practicing in Hobart, Tasmania, for the last 11 years. He has a sub specialty interest in – and passion for, surgery of the lower limb, hip, knee, foot and ankle.

Having lived in Tasmania most of his life, Miles completed his undergraduate training at the University of Tasmania before completing specialist training in Victoria and post Graduate Training in Calgary, Alberta CA. He continued to engage in many training and education courses since, and is honoured to able to offer an exceptionally high level of expertise to the people of Tasmania.

Miles consults with patients his rooms at St John’s Hospital, South Hobart, and operates there and at Calvary Hospital, Lenah Valley. He also holds the position of Visiting Medical Officer at The Royal Hobart Hospital where he is involved in the treatment of public patients and the training of junior surgeons.

Referrals from a General Practitioner are required before an appointment can be made, and patients are triaged on the basis of urgency.
